- Political economy of the digital media;
- Philosophy of the digital media.
My doctoral dissertation (University of São Paulo, 2017) compared the meaning of machine communication according to Latour’s and Heidegger’s theoretical frameworks. This research resulted in the publication of some papers, including chapters in the books “The Changing Face of Alterity” (London, Rowman & Littlefield, 2016) and “Media Logic(s) Revisited” (New York, Palgrave Macmillan, 2018).
I worked as lecturer for several years in Brazilian Higher Education, but the conservative turn in my country has rendered working conditions difficult for non-tenured staff who defend progressive ideas. Then I decided to leave the country and take this position in Salzburg.
Currently I work as one of the principal investigators in the research project The Media for Democracy Monitor, coordinate Erasmus cooperations with other European universities, lecture bachelor and master courses and conduct my own research program on political economy of digital media.
In my free time, I like to play guitar (from Bossa Nova and MPB to progressive rock), to run and to play with my lovely children.
